JANEPA PUBLISHERS is a publishing concern with the specific objective of
presenting language resources not only through the print medium but also through
the digital medium. It is a known fact that the usability of reference sources
using advanced techniques of Information and Communication Technologies becomes
vastly enhanced due to many factors such as ease of accessibility, instant
searchability and the like. The use of multimedia for presenting context of
language through visuals and the oral aspect of language through audio inputs
enhances the quality of the products immensely.
JANEPA is a dream-come-true of Prof. Jagannathan who has devoted all his
life to the study of languages and linguistics. He has been keenly involved with
many innovative projects of various academic institutions. As a linguist he has
always desired to have good dictionaries and grammars for languages and has felt
the need for ushering in reformation in the matter of standardization etc.

Constitution of India envisages for the development of Hindi language with
inputs from other Indian languages, especially the languages of the Eighth
Schedule, so that it can give expression to the composite culture of the country
in an effective manner. To this effect it is essential that quality material is
available in Indian languages so that there is proper interaction between the
languages and they get to gain from each other.
JANEPA plans to bring out various kinds of dictionaries, learning materials,
interactive grammars and applications such as text to speech etc. in all major
languages of India. They will be available on CDs and DVDs and/or through the
Internet depending on the nature of the programme and through the print medium
where feasible. It is our endeavour to come out with quality products; we are
hopeful that we will be able to better the quality with feedback from our users.
In other words a dictionary on the NET can grow in size, improve upon its
quality and can be modified/updated periodically for proper use. In order to
